Add the shredded chicken and cilantro to the pot and cook for an additional upto 5 minutes. Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste.

While the soup simmers heat a separate pan over medium heat and add a small amount of vegetables oil. Once the oil is hot then you add the tortilla strips and fry until your crispy and golden brown colour. After remove the strips from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.

To serve ladle the soup into bowls and top each bowl with a handful of fried tortilla strips. Squeeze a lime wedge over each bowl and enjoy it.
